Listening to the sounds of spa music, while I lay warm, lazy, and relaxed, my hot stone massage therapist said, ‘Now just drift off to your happy place…….enjoy those thoughts and the relaxation for the next hour….’. My immediate thought went to laying next to my significant other….but then my thoughts wandered, as they always do,…..to FOOD.
I love food. I’m not a chef nor do I have food-related training, however, I have eaten all over the world, in many cities and towns, and even in bush camps. I watch a lot of food TV, read about food, cook when I can, and have spent many years eating and drinking in Saskatoon’s varied restaurants and eateries.
I’m 38 years old and lucky enough to have a great day job that allows me to afford to eat (and drink) outside of our home….very often. Some people save their money, some spend it on house furnishings, some spend it on vehicles, some gamble, some travel……I spend my money on food and food-related experiences. Whether it be a pub, a sports bar, a pop-up or a fine-dining restaurant, I love the experiences all the same.
So…..by the end of my one-hour hot stone massage, I knew I wanted to start with this blog, to write about my love of food and all of the great places and experiences that are out there in Saskatoon. Writing about my experiences brings me a lot of happiness but I also love hearing about others’ experiences. You can leave your comments here or you can email me at biteinsight@gmail.com any time, about anything food related – I’d love to hear what you have to say!
It warms my heart to know people continue to support Saskatoon restaurant owners and staff, in a city that has grown a lot with respect to dining experiences in the last 5 to 10 years – because the demand remains. Hats off to all those restaurant owners and staff that work so hard to bring us these amazing experiences…and kudos to those who keep the industry alive!
